I used a turkey fryer burner to put my wok on in the past but it just didn’t get hot enough and it wasn’t stable even for my flat base wok. I was looking for an excuse to buy a new round bottom wok which has been sitting in my shopping cart for months and I finally have one now. This wok burner is amazing! It’s the perfect size for my 16″ wok. It looks great on my outside table and it cooled quickly to take back inside to store. It is cast iron so it may rust so I’m gonna baby this. It’s a little difficult to get used to using between all the adjustment valves from tank to burner for gas flow plus the air intake for each ring. I’m sure I’ll mess up and shut it off while cooking until I get a hang of it but just look at that flame! This is putting out a lot of BTUs in a really small areas and finally I can truly get the “wok hei” that you just don’t get any other way. Just watch out for some off the sharp unfinished edges from casting. I ran a metal file to quickly clean up the sharp points so I had to knock off a little keeping it from a perfect rating. One of the gas knob was bent as well and it wasn’t from shipping damage as the box exterior was fine. This is a great value and option for someone who really wants the high heat a wok really needs to be truly effective. Everything you need is included except the propane tank to start using your wok on this and not your home stove gas burner. It truly is night and day. Recommended purchase for sure!
