Item purchased: I purchased the 14″ with the 21V 6Amp batteries.Overall impression: I needed more than a weed wacker string trimmer for the brush around my old farm. Blackberry, wild rose and tough briars are abundant along the 1/4 mile driveway and fence posts, not to mention a few small saplings that I’ve let get out of hand.I detest spraying for both my health and the health of the birds and bees, and there are some areas (like the steep bank along the driveway) that a Z-Turn or tractor just can’t go. So manual labor it is! This is not just a string trimmer, this is a handheld battery operated brush and limb cutter. It is a beast! It comes with 3 types of cutting implements: String, Metal curved blades and Saw BladesI initially used the curve blades to tackle the driveway and other hard to reach areas. This machine made the work quick and easy. I eventually used the saw blade to trim some low hanging small limbs that have been bothering when mowing. It’s a little tricky to get used to, just be careful and don’t try to cut anything too big. And watch out, if the limb is over your head (everything is over my head) it can pinch the blade before the cut is finished if you try to tackle something too big.I wasn’t sure I would like the string trimmer part since I was purchasing for the blades, but now that I’ve used this I will not go back to the old spool type string again. Tip: Buy extra strings.Weight/Length: It’s a little heavy, but I need the workout and seriously, it’s not too bad. The telescoping length of the shaft adjusts perfectly and the handle’s length and angle can be adjusted! To give you perspective on it’s ease of use relative to size and weight, I’m a petite (short) female well past my prime and I can handle this to tackle tough jobs.Battery Life: Each battery has given me over an hour of use.
