The Better Homes and Gardens terrarium sheet moss arrived well packaged and undamaged. The moss was packaged in a flat plastic bag measuring 11.5″ by 8″. The moss was in very good condition when I received it. I used the moss in a repurposed fish bowl. I first placed some pea gravel (aquarium gravel) on the bottom of the bowl. Then I put some activated charcoal (purchase from any pet supply store) over the pea gravel. The charcoal will keep the terrarium smelling fresh. The next step is to place vinyl window screen over the charcoal. The screen will keep the planting medium from mixing with the charcoal and pea gravel. Your planting medium can be peat moss or potting soil. I prefer the peat moss. It will hold moisture better without making as much of a mess. Now for the Terrarium Moss. Cut it or pull it apart to fit your aquarium or bowl. Cut slots in the moss to plant your plants through. Add whatever other decorations you want. Remember to use plants that will stay small or that you can trim. The moss will be a big help in holding the right amount of moisture for your plants. I understand that I gave a lot of information about how to build a terrarium, but without the proper base for your moss it won’t do you much good. Check-out some on-line sites on building a terrarium and have fun with it. I’m very happy with how mine turned out. The Better Homes and Gardens Terrarium Moss played a big part in how it turned out. I would recommend the BH&G terrarium moss anytime. I will be getting more of it myself.
