9″ Antiquated Guru Rinpoche Statue, Handmade Original, Lost Wax Carving Method

The Nepali Artisan created our 9″ antiquated Guru Rinpoche Statue with his lotus hat and necklace. At the request of the buyer, we would be happy to adorn the hat and necklace with red coral and turquoise stones. This service is done at no extra charge to the buyer. The colors of these stones have special meaning in Tibetan Buddhism. It is believed that meditation on the color red will transmute the poison of attachment into the wisdom of discernment. In addition, turquoise is a combination of blue and green. Blue represents the purity of the Buddhas and green symbolizes their readiness to act. Our antiquated Guru Rinpoche statue depicts the founder of Tibetan Buddhism. The Tantric school was brought to Tibet in the 8th century ACE by Guru Rinpoche. As a result, he is a highly venerated figure among Tibetan Buddhists. Although there is a historical account of a Guru Rinpoche, what is written in history is very limited. However, his spiritual background is very rich. Additionally, he is known as Padmasambhava, which means “lotus born”. This is because he is believed to have been born in the pure land of Oddiyana. Similar to Guru Rinpoche, this spiritual land has a historical accounting but is also a pure land of spiritual origin.Antiquated Guru Rinpoche Statue Features:Guru Rinpoche is depicted with the khatvanga leaning against his left shoulder. Additionally, on the tip of the khatvanga are three impaled heads representing liberation from the three worlds of desire, form and formlessness. Also, the khatvanga is tipped with a small trident.In the palm of his left hand he holds his vessel of immortality which is filled with the elixir of eternal life. Other symbolic tools include the mythical vajra which was the preferred weapon of the Vedic deity Indra. The vajra is very symbolic in the Buddhist religion. In Sanskrit, vajra translates as thunderbolt or diamond which represents the indestructibility of virtue.Our Guru Rinpoche statue was handmade using the lost wax method. As a result, the statue portrays all its attributes in intricate detail, including his robe. The statue also features an oxidized finish which allows the intricate details of the statue to be well appreciated.
